7 Spring Home Projects

Apr 07, 2021

When springtime rolls around, everyone’s ready for some warmer weather and sunny skies after a long, dreary winter. When you’re making your list of spring home projects you’d like to tackle, consider our suggestions below.

Fertilize

Nothing says spring like a bright, green lawn! When looking for fertilizer in the spring, make sure to look for a 20-5-10 fertilizer mix. It’s also important to not fertilize your yard too early in the spring, but instead wait for some green grass to pop up naturally before applying a layer of fertilizer.

Check Your Air Conditioner

While cool spring weather is idyllic, the dog days of summer will come quickly! To be prepared for that first heat wave, make sure to do a self-inspection or hire an AC repair company to inspect your air conditioner. You don’t want to be caught without one when the temps outside are scorching!

Spray For Pests

Bugs and other pests definitely come out in full force once the warmer spring days roll around. Whether you DIY it or hire a pest control company, spraying your home both inside and outside for pests is an important item to add to your spring checklist.

Wash Your Windows

Who doesn’t love having natural light flooding their home on a sunny spring day? To make sure you have the clearest view, take some time to wash the inside and outside of your windows this spring. That streak-free shine is sure to put a smile on your face!

Clean Out Your Fridge

While important to do all year-round, cleaning out your fridge is a great spring activity to consider. Toss old or expired foods, wipe down shelves, and take some soap and water to removeable drawers. You want to have a clean fridge to store all that great spring produce, right?

Test Your Smoke Alarms

The changing of seasons is a great time to test your smoke alarms. Nothing is more important than making sure your home is a safe place for you and your family. Spend a few minutes going around your house testing and replacing batteries – you won’t regret it!

Clean Your Outdoor Furniture

Patio season is finally here! To make the most of al fresco dining, take some time this spring to hose down your outdoor furniture to rid it of pollen or other debris. Now you’re ready to enjoy warm spring nights outdoors!
