Last month, our CEO, Jim VanSteenhouse, presented us with three rules. “Do the right thing. Do the best you can. Show people you care.” Do the right thing, he said, “not because you think it will change the world, but because you refuse to be changed by the world.” Do the best you can, he added, “…until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” Finally, he challenged us to always show people we care because “people will forget what you said, but will never forget how you made them feel.”
Matt Meissner, Branch Manager out of “Title Town” (Tuscaloosa, AL), exemplifies all three of these golden rules. Matt always does the right thing for his clients, his referrals partners, his co-workers and anyone else he comes in contact with because he knows it’s the right thing to do. He is one who is constantly learning and consciously learns from others around him because he knows there is always room to do better. Finally, and most importantly, Matt is one of those people that instantly brings a smile to your face simply by being in his presence. For these reasons, Matt was selected as InterLinc’s Employee of the Month for March!
Jerry Brown, Loan Originator out of Tuscaloosa, AL, had this to say about Matt, “He is the heartbeat of our office and keeps us focused and on track. Matt keeps our office running smoothly and efficiently and is always available when problems arise. Regardless of what is going on, he is always eager to help and is the best at brainstorming and problem-solving. His enthusiasm is contentious and a great motivation to us all.”
Amy Bolton, Loan Originator out of Tuscaloosa, AL, wrote, “Matt Meissner, exemplifies all three of the rules you mentioned and I cannot think of a more deserving candidate for Employee of the Month. I have the utmost respect for him as a superior and as a friend. He is a constant encourager and an ace problem solver. His retention of guidelines is unparalleled and if we happen to bring him a question he can’t answer, he’s immediately on the phone finding the person who can. Matt is always the first to drop what he’s doing to help battle our fires, even while juggling hotter fires of his own. No matter the situation, he stays upbeat, never complains and his door is always open. I honestly can’t say enough great things about him and consider myself blessed to work alongside him.”
Jessica Sorrell, Licensed Loan Partner out of Tuscaloosa, AL, said “I have worked with Matt since 2010 and he has always been everyone’s ‘go to’ person. Even before he was officially our manager, he had long been playing the part. He is extremely knowledgeable in our changing mortgage world. Matt takes the time to try and help the people who aren’t the cookie cutter/easy customers that other lenders don’t want to spend time with. As we all know those particular loans are more time consuming most of the time and he will work until 7 or 8 at night some nights to try and figure out a way to help someone achieve their dream of homeownership. On a daily basis Matt will drop what he is doing and help us with anything from a minor question someone wants to bounce off of him to the extreme building on fire emergency that might arise from time to time. He is a true leader and definitely deserves recognition for everything he does.”
Craig Wedgeworth, Loan Originator out of Tuscaloosa, AL, agreed that Matt deserved this recognition because of “his leadership skills and dedication to help everyone solve all problems that arise.”
Melissa Copeland, Setup Coordinator out of Tuscaloosa, AL, noted, “He is always ready to help us solve our problems with a great attitude about it. He comes up with fresh ideas for our office and motivates everyone. He welcomes everyone with a smile and does his best to get them approved. He is usually the last one to leave in the (late) evenings and he never complains about it. He was also our top performer for March in our office and is carrying the heavy weight champion belt around!”
As you can see, as a company, we are lucky to have leaders like Matt within our organization. He makes a daily impact on not only his team and InterLinc, but on everyone he comes in contact with. ROLL TIDE Matt, and thank you for everything you do for all of us at InterLinc!
